Damascus sends a warning to Israel after its attack on Monday night

Damascus warned Israel of the “dangerous repercussions of its continuous aggressions” against Syria and called on the Security Council to take “firm and immediate” measures to prevent its recurrence.

In a letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council, the Syrian Foreign Ministry warned Israel “of the dangerous repercussions of its ongoing attacks on the Syrian Arab Republic under flimsy pretexts, and of its continuous support for armed terrorist organizations and its continued occupation of Arab lands, including the occupied Syrian Golan, and it bears full responsibility for it”.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry renewed its demand for the Security Council “to carry out its responsibilities within the framework of the United Nations Charter, the most important of which is the maintenance of international peace and security, condemning and holding accountable Israeli attacks on them, and taking firm and immediate measures to prevent their recurrence”.

It also called on the Council to “oblige Israel to respect its decisions and hold it accountable for its terrorism and crimes it commits against the Syrian people”.

SANA quoted the message as saying that Syria affirms that the Israeli attacks “have not and will not succeed in protecting its partners and clients from terrorist organizations” and “will not succeed in distracting the Syrian Army from continuing the achievements it makes in combating terrorism”.

The Foreign Ministry indicated that these organizations with their names such as “al Nusra Front” or “ISIS” or “White Helmets” are preparing “new provocations using chemical weapons in Idlib governorate to accuse the Syrian Army of them.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry said, “The Israeli occupation authorities, at 1:18 am today (Monday), attacked the lands of the Syrian Arab Republic again by launching bursts of rockets from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan and the Galilee in the occupied Palestinian territories targeting the vicinity of Damascus”.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry said that this attack comes within “the framework of the systematic policy of the Israeli occupation authorities based on practicing state terrorism and providing continuous support to armed terrorist groups, as an attempt to violate Security Council Resolution No. 350 of 1974 regarding the separation of forces, Security Council resolutions and international instruments against terrorism”.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry added that this attack “coincides with the vigils that our people took in the occupied Syrian Golan to commemorate the 39th anniversary of the comprehensive national strike that the people of the Golan fought on February 14, 1982 in opposition to the invalid annexation decision”.
