The second in two years: a joint Russian-Chinese-Iranian naval exercises in the Indian Ocean

“Moscow intends to hold joint naval exercises with Iran and China in the Indian Ocean later this month,” the Russian ambassador in Iran, Levan Dzhagaryan, said on Monday.

The three countries held similar naval exercises in the Indian Ocean in December 2019.

“The next multilateral naval exercises will take place in the northern part of the Indian Ocean in mid-February 2021,” the ambassador told the Russian Information Agency in an interview.

He added that the exercises would include search and rescue operations and ship safety.
