The White House: Biden instructs his administration to assess the domestic terrorist threat in the country against the backdrop of the storming of the Capitol

The White House announced on Friday that President Joe Biden has mandated his administration to complete a comprehensive assessment of the threat of domestic terrorism following the attack on the Capitol by supporters of former President Donald Trump.

US authorities open 25 cases of “internal terrorism” in connection with the storming of the Capitol.

White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said the assessment would be completed by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence in coordination with the FBI and Department of Homeland Security.

“We want an analysis based on facts, and on the basis of which we can shape policy,” she added in a press release.

It is noteworthy that the US authorities this month opened at least 25 cases related to “internal terrorism” in connection with the storming of the Capitol complex.
