The largest Iranian fleet is on its way to Venezuela, defying US sanctions, to help the isolated country face a major fuel shortage

A source closely related to the ban imposed on Venezuela revealed that Iran is sending its largest fleet of oil tankers to Venezuela in defiance of US sanctions to help the isolated country face a major fuel shortage, according to Bloomberg, on Saturday.

Some of the oil tankers in the fleet, which includes about ten Iranian ships, will also help in exporting Venezuelan crude oil, after the fuel is discharged, according to the source, who requested anonymity, as this deal is not public.

The Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s government are expanding its dependence on Iran as an ally of last resort, even after Russia and China avoided challenging the US embargo on trade with Venezuela.
