The authorities in France announced Friday evening that the country had recorded high daily cases of Coronavirus, amounting to 20,339 cases within twenty-four hours, while 62 new deaths from the virus were counted.
This outcome exceeds the previous high number of 18,746 cases on Wednesday.
The situation regarding the Coronavirus in France has become very worrying, as Health Minister Oliver Ferrand warned that the situation in the country is deteriorating.
The highest virus warning was issued in four new cities, Lyon, Lille, Grenoble and Saint-Etienne.
This warning is already in effect in Paris, Marseille and the French Guadeloupe Islands on the high seas.
This classification comes with the imposition of many restrictions, such as closing bars and restaurants that are not allowed to sell food for a period of two weeks in principle.
The government reiterates that it wants to avoid imposing a new nationwide lockdown, as happened in the spring, and relies instead on implementing provincial measures.
There are also concerns about the situation in Paris hospitals, where the number of Covid-19 patients is increasing in intensive care units.
A parallel contingency plan is being activated.
So far, more than 32,600 people have died in France from the pandemic.
Currently, you have to wear masks in the open air in many French cities.
