The Time Magazine: The signing of the two peace agreements between Israel, the UAE and Bahrain is just a “TV show” by Trump

The US “Time” magazine dealt in a report that the UAE and Bahrain normalization agreements with Israel were an attempt by the White House to show the image of US President Donald Trump as a wise man who makes deals.

Trump’s election campaign promotes that the president is a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize, even though he is viewed poorly in many parts of the world.

And senior White House adviser Jared Kushner described what happened as “a historic peace agreement in the Middle East”.

The magazine comments: “There is no doubt that foreign policy experts will object to such a designation.

This is not the Middle East peace plan that the world has pursued for decades between Israelis and Palestinians.

The negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians have been completely stopped because Trump and his envoys have apparently lined up with Israel at every stage, and removing the Gulf states from among their Arab neighbors will not help create good intentions.

The magazine says: “You cannot say that it is not a wonderful picture… an image that can calm nerves about Trump’s suitability for the job that has proven to be more complicated in the era of Covid-19”.

The Time Magazine notes that the pandemic deprived Trump of his favorite entertainment by holding huge election rallies, but he is still gathering crowds for events such as this agreement that he established in the South Lawn of the White House, without seeing many gags or social distancing.

But the Magazine added that there is a fatal flaw in this television maneuver: that peace deals are not what motivates voters, as polls always show that foreign policy is an issue but it is not important.
