Iranian Defense Minister Amir Hatami described the military cooperation relations between Iran and Russia as “completely positive and growing,” according to the Iranian IRNA news agency.
Minister Hatami said in a press statement on Saturday upon his arrival in Moscow at the head of a defense and military delegation, that the military cooperation relations between Iran and Russia are positive and completely growing, and we had important stages of cooperation between the two countries.
The Iranian Defense Minister added that one example of this is the joint maneuvers that took place in the northern Indian Ocean and the Sea of Oman between the three countries, Iran, Russia and China.
The Iranian Defense Minister continued, saying, “Of course, because of the Coronavirus crisis, cooperation between Iran and Russia has been affected to some extent, but my overall assessment is that the cooperation relations between the two countries are positive and growing”.
On the program of his visit to Moscow, Minister Hatami stated that he would participate in the military forum and exhibition to learn about the latest defense achievements, and he would discuss with Russian officials regional and bilateral issues and military cooperation.
In response to a question about regional cooperation and the advancement of military cooperation between the two countries, the Iranian Minister of Defense said: “We, both countries (Iran and Russia) are in good conditions in terms of technology and military progress.
During the visit, cooperation in the field of advanced military technology will be discussed”.
