The United States has been striving to pressure the Security Council to pass its proposal to extend the arms embargo imposed on Iran, which is scheduled to expire next October.

On Monday, Iran confirmed that any resolution submitted in the UN Security Council violates Resolution 2231 of the Council itself and is unacceptable and is a mockery of international law.
