Elements of the national defense militia loyal to the Syrian government continue to defect and join the Iranian militias and the Syria Democratic Forces

The defection continued among the National Defense Forces militia loyal to the Syrian government in Hasaka, northeastern Syria, and their accession to the SDF.

As information from Syria stated, 40 members of the National Defense Forces militia loyal to the Syrian government, who are residents of Hasaka, have joined the SDF – as the reasons for the defection were attributed to financial reasons, given that their salaries were not received for more than two months.

The salary of the elements of the national defense militias is about 60,000 to 100,000 Syrian pounds, about (25 to 50 USD), Whereas salaries of the SDF elements range from 340,000 to 450,000 Syrian pounds, approximately (150 to 200 USD).

In conjunction, number of Syrian national defense forces in the city of al Mayadeen in the eastern countryside of Deir al Zour have defected and joined forces backed by Iran.

The defectors from the National Defense Militia joined tribal forces in the area that belonged to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps in Governorate of Deir al Zour, and they started combat camps in the city.

The National Defense Command had submitted an official request to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Forces, to the necessity of returning and handing over the suspicious defense personnel who joined them, but the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Command rejected the request, and confirmed that the elements have become part of its forces in Deir al Zour.

It is noteworthy that fighters belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards fighters in Syria receive salaries ranging between 340,000 and 450,000 Syrian pounds, approximately (150 to 200 US dollars), in addition to food aid and security inducements that prevent the Syrian government from pursuing or arresting them.

It is worth noting that the same applies to many defectors from the militias loyal to the Syrian government, who also join the military formations supported by Russia in Syria, including the formation of the Fifth Syrian Corps.
