Haftar’s war media: Syrian-backed Syrian squad leader killed south of Tripoli, and official Syrian opposition accounts mourn the dead

The Military Information Division of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar (Commander of the Libyan National Army) announced the killing of the leader of the Syrian Murad Brigade (Murad Abu Hamoud Al Azizi), who is supported by Turkey, at the airport road hub south of the capital, Tripoli.

According to the “Libya News” portal today, Saturday, “Official accounts belonging to the Syrian opposition on social media have called the dead, Murad Al Azizi”.

The forces of the Libyan government, internationally recognized, announced during the past days that they were able to control several areas in the Libyan West that were affiliated with the Khalifa Haftar forces, including several hubs south and southeast of Tripoli, including the Salah Al Din and the Hadaba Project, and parts of the Ain region, Zara, as well as storming the Takbabi, Hamza, and Yarmouk camps, the missile camp, and controlling Al Wattia Air Force Base, the Badr, Tiji, and Asabaa towns.
