Coronavirus fatalities in Italy rise to 10 thousand and 779

The Italian government announced the increase in the number of deaths due to the coronavirus to 10 thousand and 779 after recording 756 new cases during the past 24 hours.

This came during a press conference held by the Director General of the Italian Civil Defense, Angelo Borelli, on Sunday in Rome.

Borelli said that the number of coronavirus infections in Italy is currently 97,689, of whom 10,000 and 779 have died, and 1,330 have recovered.

Italy leads the world in corona deaths, followed by Spain, but it is second only to the United States in the total number of cases.

In total, the virus has infected more than 704,000 people in 199 countries and territories, more than 33,000 have died, while more than 150,000 have recovered.
