Forensic experts in Turkey have concluded that the former British officer who helped found the White Helmets (the Syrian Civil Defense) died as a result of his fall from a high place.
James Le Mesurier, 48, was found dead on a street below the window of his apartment in Istanbul’s Beyoglu district on November 11.
On Monday, the state-run TRT channel said a postmortem examination revealed that the cause was a “general body shock associated with a fall from above”.
She added that no one else’s DNA had been found.
James Le Mesurier holds the rank of British Empire in 2016, and founded the Mayday Rescue Association to respond to emergencies, the association that contributed to the training of White Helmets.
